| Purpose: | ||
| 1) | To introduce you
to the concepts, concerns and current thoughts regarding the discipline,
art and science of Industrial/Organizational Psychology & Organizational
Behavior. |

| 2) | To provide opportunities
for you think about how you might apply yourself and the concepts you
learn in the course to real world organizational problems. |
|
| 3) | To provide learning opportunities that are designed to help you effectively participate in the organizations you will work in throughout your life. | |
| Class Policies and Procedures: | ||
| 1) | Quality counts! Your grade will be based on the quality of your work on assignments,
and exams. Assignments,
exams and grading procedures are discussed below. |

| 2) | Participation is useful! You are responsible for your learning. I am responsible for providing you the
appropriate opportunities. Some
of the learning in this class will be experiential in nature, and can
not be gleaned from others' notes.
Therefore, class attendance may be very helpful, however except
for exams, you are free to chose to attend or not.

| Assignments: |

| 1) | Paper. A
research/literature review paper on an I/O or OB topic to be determined
in class is due per the attached schedule.
This paper will be a team effort.
The final paper should be at least 12 pages, typed double spaced,
and references should be APA Style. Additional specifications will be described
in class and may be found on my web page on
term papers. |

| 2) | Homework.
Tasks may be assigned at different points throughout the semester. Due dates and specifications will be presented
at the time of the assignment. |
|
| 3) | Honor System. The principles of individual effort per the honor code will
be in effect unless otherwise stipulated.
The team paper will be graded as a group effort, and within group
collaboration is expected. |

|
Exams and Grading: |

| Exams will draw on material from lectures, class exercises and the text book. The exams will be a mixture of objective and essay questions. Make-up exams are to be completed ASAP. | ||
| Your final grade will be based on the quality of your work on: | ||
| a) | Three exams (20, 25 & 25%). |
|
| b) | Team paper (20%), + Team work grade (5%). |
|
| c) | Homework and class participation (5%). | |
| For mid-semester progress reports,
grades equivalent to a "C" or better will be reported as satisfactory.
A ÒC-Ó is required for a ÒPÓ, if you are taking the class Pass/Fail. |

| For final grades an total grade of 93.34 and above receives an "A",
90.00 to 93.33 is an "A-", 87.34 to 89.99 is a "B+",
83.34 to 87.33 is a "B", 80.00 to 83.33 is a "B-",
77.34 to 79.99 is a "C+", 73.34 to 77.33 is a "C",
70.00 to 73.33 is a "C-", 67.34 to 69.99 is a "D+",
60.00 to 67.33 is a "D", Below 60 is an "F". |
