Creating Research-Based Web Sites with Netscape Composer

Module 2 - Analyzing and Designing a Web Site

Evaluation Criteria

You need to evaluate your site to be sure you are meeting the needs of the audience and satisfying the mission of the site. Creation of evaluation criteria provides a specific checklist of goals for the site that goes into more detail than the site mission statement.  It provides the site designer with a clear vision of what needs to be included.

Fortunately for you, the evaluation criteria have already been created for the projects you will be completing in this course.  Clicking the Projects link at the left will take you to the descriptions of what each web site should include.   In addition, the Web Site Peer Evaluation Form lists criteria in the area of web site usability and content (for example, do all the links work, is the content is clear and accurate?).

Look at these criteria often during the design phase of your work.  They can provide you with the roadmap to a complete, accurate, and useful site.
